Fixed term/Secondment opportunity through to 27th June 2025 Our Purpose is to provide assistance to government entities throughout the sector and region, aiding the Regional Public Service Commissioner (RPSC), alongside the Regional Director and Regional Leadership Groups (RLG), and facilitating collaboration among other social sector agencies while monitoring shifts in the social welfare of New Zealanders. Our efforts, in conjunction with our social sector collaborators, are pivotal in advancing a sustainable and thriving future where all New Zealanders are empowered to be self-reliant, secure, and well-supported. The Lead Advisor – Regional Public Service will provide high level strategic and operational advice and support to the Regional Public Service Commissioner (RPSC) on strategy implementation and across agency and stakeholder engagement. Working alongside the Regional Director, this role will support and strengthen public service relationships with key stakeholders from across the region and leverages these relationships to implement strategies and initiatives for benefit of the region. The mandate for the RPSC and the Regional Leadership Framework are embedded in the Public Service Act 2020, which aims to ensure New Zealand’s public service is modern, joined-up and citizen-focussed. Your responsibilities will include: Provide high level strategic and operational advice to the RPSC. Provide support for existing and new Regional Leadership Group (RLG) initiatives. Support the RPSC and RLG to address key issues for the region Work collaboratively with key agency leads, RLG and other key stakeholders. Provide administrative support associated with RLG regional priority steering groups. Work with the RPSC to implement national priorities as needed in the region. Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships from across the region and leverage these relationships to implement strategies and initiatives for benefit of the region.
