VoIP Simulator for PSTN Gateway Development and Testing

VoIP Simulator for PSTN Gateway Development and Testing PSTN Gateway is an important component of P25 solution, which allows mobile phone to communicate with a radio unit (portable/mobile radio) or in a radio group. With the PSTN Gateway features implemented, we are mainly relying on manual tests to check whether things are "working", which is inefficient and maybe inconsistent. The proposed VoIP Simulator will act like a router that connects to PSTN Gateway. With all the knowledge of the radio groups and units, it could automatically dial and send/receive audio. Then we can run automatic tests, analyse the delay and quality, and form a standard of metrics to quantify the performance. In addition, it provides a method to test existing systems without physically configuring a PSTN router and network, which can be beneficial for development in the long term. Furthermore, it enables us to analyse the input/output audio streams for more insights of the traffic. The duties of the role will include: You will need to learn the fundamentals of P25 system, and especially the functionalities of PSTN Gateway.
