Here is what you will be doing at the branch: Store Management • Manages overall store operations and productivity through effective staff management and a strong customer service focus • Sets high goals for person and group accomplishment and uses specific measurements to monitor progress towards those goals. • Leads, coaches, trains and supports staff to strengthen specific knowledge and skill areas needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem. • Builds trust by interacting with others in a way that gives them confidence in the Company and its employees. • Actively assesses employee performance providing training in technical and customer service skills and on-the-job training as well as placement on Bridgestone New Zealand Ltd company training programmes. • Ensures store operations and store workplace environment are maintained and effected in accordance with legislation and Company policy and guideline requirements (Company HR Policy Manual, Company Health & Safety Manuals, Retail Standards as set by the Company from time to time.) • Maintains strict control of stocks and assets with monthly checks. • Maintains store presentation in a clean, tidy and promotional style and ensures that staff use down time to attend to housekeeping and presentation of the store. • Represents Bridgestone New Zealand Ltd positively and professionally at all times in employee conduct. • Prepares and provides to National Support Office Performance Reports on sales figures and targets, tyre tracking reports, competitor market activities, monthly store operations, health & safety, inventory and stocks, and others as required. • Ensures all company files, documents and employee information is recorded and updated regularly and treated in strict confidentiality. • Conducts thorough annual performance reviews with each reporting staff member and ensure necessary performance appraisal documentation is completed and forwarded to National Support Office. • Follows up on employee appraisals to ensure that employee goals and challenges are being achieved and courses, development and diplomas are completed. • Conducts regular team brief meetings to ensure that all staff are kept informed of store and Company matters. • Encourages innovation and problem solving and implements change as appropriate. • Delegates responsibility to others as appropriate to maximize efficiency of the store. • Leads through vision and values by keeping The Bridgestone Way at the forefront of team member decision making and action. Financial Management • Maintains strict cash control in the store at all times • Develops realistic annual store budgets in consultation with Commercial Manager for all sales and expense areas for the store. • Regularly monitors expenditure within budgets set and controls exceeding budget allocation. • Reviews sales and expenses on a daily, weekly and monthly basis monitoring against set targets within overall store budgets and communicating results to National Support Office. • Ensures sales figures are tracked and reported, monthly operating statements are checked and profitability targets are communicated within store. • Work with Company Credit Manager to set and monitor credit limits for customers. • Works with Accounts Receivable department to maintain effective credit control management on retrieving outstanding monies on customer account. Any customers with overdue accounts are contacted monthly for outstanding invoice receivables as part of effective credit control procedures. • Responsible for invoicing, reconciliations (where applicable), banking and account enquiries when required from customers. Sales & Marketing • Implements marketing promotions and campaigns administered by Marketing Department. • Promotes sales of Bridgestone New Zealand Ltd products and services to all customers and contributes to building good customer relationships. Customer Service • Develops and sustains productive customer relationships. • Drives, promotes and fosters exceptional customer service within the business • Ensures strict adherence to all customer service requirements and standards as outlined from time to time, including B Solution, where applicable in commercial operations. • Provides, when necessary, technical work including forecourt labour and workshop machine operating duties, providing advice and assistance to staff and customers when required. • Attends to any customer and telephone enquiries in a strongly customer service focused manner, providing any specialist tyre advice and technical information to enhance sales performance and customer service. • Ensures job cards are accurately completed and checked with all relevant customer work and any sales servicing provided. • Responsible for the completion of all paperwork and computerised invoicing. Health & Safety • Ensures the workshop and all working, service bay areas, customer areas, facilities and vehicles are kept clean, clutter free and tidy at all times. • Ensures Company vehicles are kept in a roadworthy condition and insurance compliant. • Ensures that all staff members use safety equipment provided when operating machinery and manual working tools ensuring safe working practices for yourself and your staff members. • Ensures all staff members are trained in all technical matters to work safely and follow safe working practices and procedures so as to ensure your safety, fellow employees, contractors, customers and on-site visitor safety. • Uses staff down time to attend to hazard identification and awareness of already identified hazards, monthly housekeeping checks, company vehicle inspections, complete any outstanding training modules and activities on the Health and Safety Event Planner. • Understands company Occupational Health & Safety Manuals in order to recognize what hazards are applicable to your role and working area and completes and maintains records and monthly H&S checklists. • Informs immediate manager of any workplace potential hazards and any machinery or tools requiring servicing or repair. • Completes necessary documentation for any work-related injuries, ACC and external agencies within required time frames. Actively participates in the rehabilitation of store employees. • Facilitates monthly health & safety meetings. Arranges regular Hazard reviews and "fresh eye" application of work and customer service areas.
